What Is That H-Foundation Sound? MattLok takes you on a deep West Coast House journey inspired by the legendary H-Foundation—Hipp-E and Halo—the duo who helped define a timeless dub-influenced house and tech-house sound from the late 1990s onward. With rolling grooves & basslines, organic textures, and underground energy, this mix also pays tribute to fellow scene pioneers like Joeski, Dano, Chris Lum, Jay J, Onionz, Tony Hewitt, The 6400 Crew and more, while recognizing DJ Dan and Donald Glaude for pushing West Coast House into a harder, funkier direction of house, breakbeat, and techno. Together, these sounds shaped a movement that drew in everyone from true house heads to hippies and the older reggae crowd alike, while creating a spirit of unity throughout the rave and underground scene.
